COLOCCINI: NO PRESSURE

admin 0

Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini has said that the pressure will be upon Manchester United when the two sides meet each other at the Sports Direct Arena.

Manchester United will be coming into the match on the back of the 3-2 loss suffered at hands of Blackburn Rovers on New Year’s Eve. This has meant that they were unable to catch Manchester city at the top of the table. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to the top of New Year’s Day in order to win the title, but the defeat landed a major blow to that hope. Hence, he will be looking to get back on track with a win over Newcastle United.

After suffering a blip during the middle part of the season, Newcastle United are slowly seem to be recovering back. They were expected to drop down the table like a rock, but Alan Pardew has steadied the ship with a number of new changes to the way the team play. This has become extremely important considering that the team will be losing two important players during the January and February months due to the African cup of nations. Top scorer Demba Ba will be one among them, but he will be available for the match against Manchester United.

“The game against Manchester United is not just another game. There are three valuable points to play for, for both teams, so I expect a dogfight because both of us need to win. If we win we can connect with the top part of the table in the fight for European competition. That’s our aim this year and we want to stay in the race,” said the 29-year-old Argentine defender Fabricio Coloccini. He also said that he is also looking forward to starting the New Year on a positive note.
